Uploading Credit Card Statements

How to upload business credit card statements and what AI Tax Accountant does with them — line-item analysis and deduction discovery.

Credit card statements are one of the highest-yield document types you can upload. Many small-business owners run software subscriptions, travel, meals, and office supplies through a single card, and the AI scans every line item against the tax code to surface potential deductions to discuss with your tax professional.

Which Cards to Include

  • Any card with the business name on it (Chase Ink, Amex Business, Capital One Spark, etc.).
  • Personal cards used exclusively or primarily for business expenses.
  • Both the year-end summary and monthly statements if your card issuer provides both.

How to Download a Statement

  • Log in to your card issuer's website (chase.com, americanexpress.com, capitalone.com, etc.).
  • Open Statements or Statements & Activity.
  • Select each month of the tax year and click Download PDF.
  • Year-end summaries are usually labeled "Year-End Summary" or "Annual Account Summary."

Upload to the Portal

  • Open Upload Documents in your portal.
  • Set the File type dropdown to Bank Statement (credit cards are grouped under this category).
  • Drag the PDFs onto the upload area, or click to browse.
  • Files are encrypted end-to-end during upload.

What Happens Next

The AI extracts every transaction, classifies merchants against industry standards, and flags items that may qualify as business deductions. These appear in the Tax Strategy section of your report with an estimated savings range. Always confirm with your tax professional before claiming any deduction.

Personal expenses mixed with business expenses on the same card are not a problem — the AI flags them separately. You don't need to redact or hide personal transactions before uploading.
