FAQ

Who Can See My Financial Data?

Exactly who at AI Tax Accountant has access to your uploads and reports, how access is logged, and how to share data with your own accountant.

Your financial data is private to your firm. By default, only members of your own organization can see your uploads, transactions, and reports. Below is a precise breakdown of who can access what.

Inside Your Own Firm

  • Admin role — full access to all engagements, documents, reports, and billing.
  • Staff role — access to engagements they are assigned to, with the ability to upload, classify, and message.
  • Client role — access only to their own documents and reports.

AI Tax Accountant Personnel

Your raw financial data is processed programmatically — it is not reviewed line-by-line by our staff. A small number of authorized employees may access engagement metadata for support, troubleshooting, or quality assurance when you contact us with a specific issue. Every such access is written to the audit log.

AI Processing

Transaction descriptions and amounts are sent to the Anthropic Claude API for classification. Anthropic does not retain this data or use it to train its models. We send only the minimum data needed for the task — no full PDFs, no account numbers.

External Sharing

Nothing leaves your firm unless you explicitly share it. You control sharing by downloading reports as PDF/Excel and sending them yourself, or by inviting your tax professional as a team member (see "Sharing Reports with My Accountant").

Audit Logs

Significant actions — logins, document uploads, report downloads, role changes — are recorded. Admins can review the audit log to see exactly who did what and when. If you ever need a copy for your own records, contact support.
